Karl Stefanovic found himself at the centre of a heated debate about one of the Married At First Sight 2020 contestants on Monday’s Today show.

The TV host cheekily blamed the MAFS relationship experts for dealing last year’s contestant – and 2020 return bride – Elizabeth Sobinoff the short straw after she was cheated on and “fat-shamed” by her groom, Sam Ball.
During their appearance on yesterday’s Today show, John Aiken, Mel Schilling, and Dr. Trisha Stratford discussed Lizzie’s upcoming return to the show.
“That’s your fault,” teased Karl, after the experts explained they felt sorry for her last season.
‘She didn’t get a fair go last time, did she? Poor Lizzie,’ Mel admitted.
‘I wasn’t unfaithful to her,’ she shot back at Karl.
Explaining their decision to bring her back, John said: ‘She’s a unique quirky character and people will relate to her,’
While Lizzie didn’t feature on last night’s season premiere, the reality star has already hinted that her second chance at love doesn’t go too well.
Back in November, the 29-year-old shared an Instagram post which appeared to throw shade at her MAFS groom.
The jewellery store manager captioned a picture of herself holding a cup of tea: “I need a refreshment with a side of harmony, peace and rejuvenation.”
