Her tale is that of a modern-day princess, having caught the eye of Prince William when they studied together at St Andrew’s University. So it’s no surprise that Kate Middleton is raising their three children in a very modern way. Don’t believe us? A new report from the Express reveals that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are taking a very different approach to parenting compared to that of William’s grandmother, the Queen.
Between 1953 and 1954, the Queen and Prince Philip spent six months away from a young Prince Charles and Princess Anne whilst they embarked on a gruelling world tour of the Commonwealth.
According to the publication, the Queen thought being away from home for such a long period would be too hard on her children, therefore making the decision to leave them behind.
However, William and Kate are set to take a very different approach to travel when they visit Pakistan later this year. The Express states that while the couple will not be bringing Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four and Prince Louis, one, they will most likely spend a maximum of one week in Pakistan, ensuring they minimise their time away from their young family.

While William and Kate have previously brought their children along with them on official royal duties – George was famously in attendance during his parents’ trip to Australia in 2014, and both George and Charlotte accompanied the royal couple to Canada in 2016 – it is believed the increasing political unrest between Islamabad and New Delhi would make the trip potentially unsafe for small children.
