After years of being at odds with each other, radio star Kyle Sandilands reignited his feud with Today Extra host David Campbell on his KIIS FM radio show yesterday.
In an interview with Karl Stefanovic, Kyle made several biting remarks about the tv host, along with a suggestive comment about why Richard Wilkins joined Today Extra after leaving the Today show.

The interview fell into a discussion about Richard Wilkins – who is still an entertainment editor at Nine but was removed from the Today show to be on the Today Extra show with David Campbell and Sonia Kruger, which airs after 9am.
The radio host said Richard Wilkins was only hired to “try and pump the ratings up to try and hide the fact they’ve got that rotten thing David Campbell after the show.”
“Rotten to the core,” Kyle added.
The shock jock also praised his co-host, Sonia Kruger, stating that she should be the only host of Today Extra.
“I love Sonia [Kruger] and she should be doing that show by herself,” Kyle said, adding that her cohost was weighing her down.
“She doesn’t need some sort of noose around her neck like Campbell there dragging her down like an anchor!”
Karl tried to defend his fellow Channel 9 tv host, saying, “He’s a beautiful guy. Soft and gentle.”
“Terrified!” Kyle snapped, “Runs away as soon as he sees me. Runs, like Usain Bolt!”
The feud between the two media personalities is longstanding.
In 2017, Kyle told news.com.au that he thought of Campbell as a “mate” until he “jumped on the bandwagon” and turned on the radio host.
“That c**k breath, I can’t stand him,” Sandilands said when asked about the television host.
“David Campbell I’ve known for a long time. Good guy, nice guy. I wasn’t hanging out of his pocket but I’d seen him and bring him onto our show all the time,” he continued.
Sandilands said that he was supportive of the fellow entertainer’s music career, even when Campbell joined rival radio station Nova.
“He brought a song out and our station wasn’t going to play it and I said, ‘I don’t think that’s fair.’ Just because he’s on another station doesn’t mean we should ban him. I just think the right thing to do is just play it.”
“I thought I’d stretched the friendship for him, you know, even though he was on an opposition network.”
However, Sandilands told the publication that when Campbell criticised him in the media, everything changed.
“As soon as he had a chance to have a little whinge during one of my many f**k-ups of life, he was one of the ones to first sink the boot in as many people did,” the radio host said.
“And I thought, f**k you dog! I’ve done the right thing by you the whole time and he just jumped on the bandwagon. He’s just a peasant. Now he’s no friend of mine.”
While the two haven’t had to work together in several years, the KIIS FM host says he has come face-to-face with the Channel Nine host a few times.
“If that little slender David Campbell walks in, in his Roger David suit and sees me, he just does a little pirouette and out the door,” Sandilands said.
