Kylie Jenner has come under fire from fans after boasting about throwing a Handmaids Tale-themed birthday party for friend Anastasia Karanikolaou.
The 21-year-old billionaire posted several pictures and videos to Instagram stories from the bash over the weekend, including one of the reality star and Scott Disick’s girlfriend Sofia Richie dressed up in the red robes which are worn by handmaids on the hit Hulu TV series.

Based on the popular 1985 novel by Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale is set in an alternative, dystopian world in which the US has become a fascist state called Gilead.
Women are selected to be handmaids based on their fertility and are regularly subjected to brutal rapes by their ‘owners’ wealthy, powerful couples who are unable to have children of their own so rely on the handmaids to bare their babies.
Unsurprisingly, the make-up mogul was slammed by social media users for the tasteless theme, with many labelling the Keeping Up With The Kardashian‘s star as tone deaf and ignorant.
