They are professional colleagues that come from mechanical backgrounds, and between them have 150,000 LEGO building bricks in their personal collections! Meet LEGO® MASTERS stars David and Gerhard (or “G” as he is better known).
David, a workshop mechanical supervisor and G a mechanical fitter, both work in the exploration drilling industry in Western Australia. The pair bonded after David built a replica mini drill rig display which impressed his employers and fellow employees including G.
David – a father to boys aged seven and five – had his LEGO works displayed at Perth’s Bricktober convention and describes his style as technical, often featuring machinery, cranes, trucks and cars.
Meanwhile G has a passion for “real world” works that often sees him building houses, medieval villages, Western scenes and architectural structures with a real-life, figurative aspect.
Between them these determined, mechanical mates will bring their engineering nous, technical know-how and real-world eye for detail to the competition.
