Is MAFS’ Aleks reuniting with ex Ivan in Sydney?

The Perth-based beauty is moving east.

She may have called Perth home, but Married At First Sight’s Aleks Markovic has revealed she’s moving to Sydney – the same city as her on-screen ex Ivan Sarakula.

Speaking to Perth Now, the 26-year-old real estate agent confirmed that she was moving to the NSW capital, adding that the show helped her career-wise.

“Being on MAFS gave me a lot more opportunities, you’re more recognised now so people know who you are,” she told the publication.

“The move to Sydney and finding a job in Sydney was a little bit easier because people had already met me through MAFS.”

However, there’s no chance of either a romantic or professional reunion with her ex-husband Ivan, who also works in real estate in Sydney.

“There’s no industry competition with (Ivan) because we work in different areas,” she revealed, adding that she’s also launching her own makeup brand.

Despite seeming like the unlikely golden couple of the series, Aleks revealed that she and Ivan broke up in February this year due to differences in “values, wants, need and lifestyles.”

“My MAFS journey was one that I will never forget. I learnt so much about myself and what I truly want and need for myself and in a partner. I do not doubt that my soulmate is out there somewhere,” she penned on Instagram shortly after the finale aired.

Aleks elaborated on the break up in an Instagram Q&A, explaining that she and Ivan had their fair share of arguments.

Our lifestyle was just so different. We were just fighting a lot it was becoming toxic… So he dumped me,” she revealed.

“I’m ready to settle down and have kids and I just think our lifestyles wouldn’t match up with raising kids together. I need my values to match up with a man. I need them to be similar to me on how they want to raise kids,” she said, adding they’re “much better off as friends”.

Earlier this year, Aleks was also linked to Bachelor and fellow Perth local Locky Gilbert, after he was spotted in the background of one of Aleks’ Instagram Live video.

“I was at my high school friend’s house and he was there as well. He rocked up out of the blue. I had obviously never met him and I didn’t even know who he was. We just happened to be in the same place at the same time,” she told radio duo Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O.

“When my friend said he was the next Bachelor, we started talking about the dark side of reality TV and producers and we hit it off as friends.”

However, Aleks slammed claims that she and Locky were romantically involved and appeared to give a potential Bachelor spoiler.

“I think Locky is a beautiful person but there’s nothing there. He is a lovely boy, but he has his eye on someone from The Bachelor as well.”

According to the Saturday Telegraph, the upcoming season of Married At First Sight that will air at the beginning of 2021 will have “wellness managers” behind the scenes to help contestants’ mental health.

But Aleks slammed the initiative, adding that the new crew members will prevent producers from editing the show as they see fit.

“At the end of the day they’re going to portray you the way they want and f**k up someone’s life regardless,” she told Daily Mail Australia.

No wellness manager is going to prevent that from happening.”
