In an Instagram Live video with radio star Bryce Rithven, the single mum-of-two claims Nine said she would ‘no longer be supported’ by the network, and any promotional opportunities would not be available to her anymore – including all radio and magazine interviews, photo opportunities and appearances on today or Today Extra.

Explaining why she broke her contract, Stacey said: ‘I didn’t like the way they were talking about my life in the media. And they were allowing other contestants to talk about my personal life and drag certain people through the mud who didn’t sing up to the show.’

‘They were meant to support our mental health and have my back, and I felt like they didn’t, and they weren’t helping me. And that they were allowing other contestants to get away with certain things. I thought, “This is the part that I take back control and let you guys (viewers of the show) see me for who I am.”‘.

In an act of rebellion, Stacey locked Nine producers out of her Instagram account and refused to post promos for the show. She also went on to do two unauthorised interviews and revealed key plot lines with fans before they had aired.
