Married At First Sight’s Vanessa Romito issued a bold ultimatum to Nine producers who wanted her to return to the show.

WATCH: MAFS’ Michael hits back at Vanessa ‘lying’ about cheating video

According to a new report, Vanessa threatened to pull out of the girls’ night just hours before filming last year, even though producers had centred the episode around her.

An insider told Daily Mail Australia: ‘Vanessa made it clear to bosses that she would only stay if they guaranteed she wouldn’t have to see Chris [Nicholls, her ex-‘husband’] under any circumstances.’

‘None of the cast knew what was happening, why they were being brought back or who they’d be filming with. They were all quite tense.
‘By this point, Vanessa and Chris had been off the show for six weeks and no longer spoke to each other. She never wanted to see him again and made that known.’

The news outlet states that Vanessa was so confused about what was happening, she resorted to asking the paparazzi at the airport if they could shed any light on the situation.

‘She was panicking. The cast already had the dates for the actual reunion in January, and had no idea why they were doing another in November,’ the source added.

Vanessa became an integral part of the most confusing cheating scandal in Married At First Sight history after claiming she had video evidence of Michael Goonan and Hayley Vernon hooking up.

However, it turns out she was lying the whole time, revealing during last night’s episode that she fibbed about the incriminating clip in an attempt to get Michael to confess to his wrongdoings.

Naturally, this angered his wife Stacey Hampton with the lawyer arguing that Vanessa— who was there when the affair took place— is no longer a reliable source thanks to her deceitful ways. As expected, the mother of two wasn’t the only person seething, with dozens of angry viewers flocking to Twitter to tear into Vanessa.

Other users questioned whether Vanessa made up this elaborate story in an attempt to score more air time. As we know, we were hardly given a glimpse into her time on the show, with her TV husband Chris Nicholls telling WHO last month that they were forced off set after she said she had plans to expose the network’s sneaky tactics.

“We were forced to leave MAFS. Producers told me they weren’t able to shoot anything more with us because Vanessa threatened the network and made up this stuff about her mental health,” Chris told us over the phone.

“I still can’t figure out whether Nine or MAFS were being delicate because of her mental health excuse or because she was going to take legal action. I think a different side of her came out in the last episode and she was worried about how she was going to be portrayed, so they just kicked us off.”
