It’s the plot twist we did not see coming! MAFS’ contestants Jesse and Janelle have been spotted together… and it looks like they could be dating?
The pair both competed on the current season of Married At First Sight Australia, with Janelle paired up with Adam and Jesse married to Claire.
Both couples ended up leaving the show following the cheating scandal between Adam and Claire.
Fans first suspected the unexpected pairing, when photos emerged of Janelle and Jesse hanging out outside of the experiment, shortly after the emotional episode aired that saw Claire and Jesse leave the experiment.
The photos, which were taken by Daily Mail Australia showed the pair enjoying brunch together.
Sources close to the pair revealed to the publication that Janelle and Jesse have been texting and calling each other constantly, dishing that their chemistry was “undeniable.”
Now, as the season has officially wrapped up, fans have spotted the pair together again! And not in the place you would expect. Ex-MAFS star, Al Perkins, and his Love Island Co-star Taku Chimwaza Facetimed Jesse during a recent episode of their podcast, Back To Reality.
When face timing the marriage celebrant, the hosts were surprised to see a shirtless Jesse joined by Janelle on the call. So, the following week they brought Jesse on the show to figure out just how close the pair were becoming.
“So how well do you know Janelle?” they asked. “On a scale of 1 to 10, I know Janelle about a 5 or 6,” Jesse coyly answered.
“Let me start by saying Janelle and I are really good friends she’s a real cool chic, I love so much about her,” shared Jesse before explaining that Janelle had recently moved to Sydney whilst he was staying in Perth.
Although he explained that the distance itself has put a halt on any relationship possibilities, Al and Taku needed more clarification on his recent trip to visit her.
“We shared a bed…but there was no funny business,” he laughed before saying they were really good friends. Jesse also shared that she was probably the “best” friend he had made on the show and that he definitely hugs her a bit longer than he does for any other friends!
Jesse’s exit from the show surprised fans who watched as he and Claire attempted to fix their relationship.
Despite their strengthening bond, Harrison’s meddling took its toll Jesse & Claire, whose delicate relationship finally crumbled.
After Harrison revealed he thought Claire was still on the experiment to fix her image rather than develop a relationship, the seed of doubt struck a chord for Jesse, who chose to leave alongside Claire.
“Claire cheated on me,” explained Jesse. “I have stretched myself so much. I came into this saying that my fight or flight kicks in real quick and I’m quick to end things early on so I really stretched myself…but this comment really brought back a lot of things that I had been pushing to the side.”
“I think the straw that broke the camel’s back was a comment made by Harrison,” Jesse told the experts.
And Claire agreed, telling the experts herself, “I think it definitely came from Harrison’s comment. It seems as though Harrison wanted to deflect the pressure he may have been facing at the table…I think he turned his sights on what may be potentially the weakest of the couples.”
