In what was probably the lamest joke of the day, MAFS alum Dean Wells has confirmed that the Instagram post he shared yesterday, claiming that he and his former Married At First Sight wife Tracey Jewel has rekindled their romance, was in fact an April Fool’s prank.
“Well we gave it a shot, but in the end it wasn’t meant to be. We have decided to go our separate ways again haha hope you had a great April Fool’s Day everybody,” Dean wrote on April 2.
He continued “@traceyjewel_ify and I are still great mates and send a massive thank you to everyone who wished us well, but we are sorry to say it was just a little April Fool’s prank. Didn’t realise there was so many people who even cared tbh! PS cant wait for this years #mafs finale!! #hititandquitit.”
Dean’s previous post had included a very lengthy tribute to his former TV. Flame.
“It’s been the worst kept secret for a while now, but its time we come clean,” he began.
“My little lady @traceyjewel_ify and I have decided to give this crazy ride called love another go.”
“Despite our differences, and all that we have been through, in the long run it seems the experts may have got it right. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and kept this quiet xx “
Adding, “❤️ #mafs#loveatsecondsight cant wait for the next chapter!!”
Fans of the reality TV variety were confused.
Jake Ellis said, “What a day to announce it! 😉 Congrats legend x”
Ex-MAFS star Nasser Sultan remarked, “WTF ??? It’s April fools.”
Even Tracey’s ex got in on the action, with Sean Thomsen saying, “Congratulations!!! Hope to see little ones running around soon xx”
However, never one to mince her words, Cyrell cut straight to the chase: “April fools mofos 🙌🏽”
