Contestants from this season have been advised not to speak out too much about their time on Married At First Sight Australia.
Lauren and Matt were even banned.
But after Nine blocked ex-cast mate Dean Wells, the former groom is dropping some shocking bombshells about the network and the truth behind what happens with the editing.
In an exclusive chat with WHO, Dean spills all.
WHO: Lauren has spoken about editing…. What can you tell us?
DEAN: Yeah, I saw her interviewed.
The whole editing thing, I’ve spoken up about the that the whole time.
People say ‘those words came out of your mouth’ or ‘I saw that come out of your mouth’ but you didn’t see the hour work of the conversation before that, that changes the whole complexion of that discussion.
In terms of how Sam and Ines goes, I honestly think they are having fun with it.
I think the producers encourage this vibe of ‘it’s all a bit of fun, it’s all a bit of a joke’ like ‘oh go into bed with her’ or ‘why don’t you do this’ or she said can you ‘ha ha ha.’
They laugh about it.
They make a funny kind of joke as if it’s a funny scandal.
But when they edit it on the show, they put the most serious music with it. The promos they put out are so serious and so full on and so “oh my god, these people are the worst people ever. They’re the worst humans ever.”
DEAN CONT: They really manipulate you into thinking it’s all a bit of fun, it’s all a bit of a joke and it’s all a funny game that people will see through.
I actually feel really bad for Ines mainly because I think she’s actually having fun with it.
She’s just a cheeky person. Don’t get me wrong, some of the things she has said and done are a bit nasty and there’s no real excuse for that.
But, it’s not real life. You’re playing a role.
You’re having fun with it. You’re trying to make tv. That was what I was doing anyways. For her, I reckon it’s awesome. She’s making them famous.
