When Heidi Latcham applied to be a participant on Married At First Sight, she thought she was signing up to find love. What she wasn’t expecting was all the fighting, back-stabbing and infidelities.

In fact, Heidi says she and her TV husband Mike Gunner tried their best to stay away from all the drama.

“I thought going into this there would be a bit of drama, but I didn’t know much and how much you get embroiled in it,” Heidi says of her time on the show.

“Eventually, I told myself, let them play their own games. If they want to go nutso, they can. I didn’t want to get involved in that so much. I am here for my husband and to form a relationship with him. That was my main thing.

“I tried to stay back from it because that’s not how I roll, but if anyone was ever criticised, I would stand up for them.”

Despite this, Heidi admits she was worried about the way she was going to be portrayed on screen.

“I was worried about my life not being private any more,” she reveals.

“And I was worried about what I would say – I was worried about a lot of things.” Speaking of Ines Basic and Sam Balls’ affair, Heidi also went on to express her thoughts on infidelity, revealing cheating is a big deal-breaker for her.

“I would never go for someone like that,” she says. “I’ve come across cheaters in my life, but I’ve always just stayed away from them. I just like kind, lovely people, really.”

Speaking of drama… Let’s not forget Mike’s infamous honeymoon moment.
