MasterChef contestant Khanh Ong has become known for bold flavoursome choices that pack a punch while cooking on the show, but last night fans were left feeling ‘sick’ over his questionable dish.

In last night’s MasterChef challenge, contestants were tasked with creating a protein-based dessert.
The brief led to one very unusual choice by Khanh, who decided to create anchovy ice cream.
The salty little fish is an acquired taste at the best of times, let alone in a sweet dessert, and it had Twitter cringing in unison.
“Anchovy ice cream is literally what they serve in hell!” one Twitter user wrote.
“Don’t know why they are all using things like anchovies when bacon is literally right there,” said another.
While a third commented: “Anchovy ice cream? I just threw up a little.”
Even the creator himself apologised for his strange concoction.
“I’m sorry that I’m making anchovy ice cream (sick face emojis)”, he wrote in one Tweet, before adding in another: “I’m an idiot.”
Other viewers loved the idea.
“I want to try it!” one commented, while another added: “Love, love, love anchovies! Why not roll the ice cream in an anchovy crumb too?”
The final result was “anchovies, nuts and beer,” which equated to the anchovy ice cream paired with a peanut praline, a chilli dusted tuile and a beer granita.
“I tried your anchovy ice cream and it blew my face off with anchovy, and I’m an anchovy fiend,” Judge Andy Allen commented after tasting the dish before adding he didn’t believe it could “transpire into an edible dish.”
Yet, it worked.
Calling it “the perfect combination”, Andy was impressed, as were judges Melissa and Jock.
“I loved it, well done,” Jock said.
The dessert was a unanimous winner and no one seemed more surprised than Khanh.
Following the judges comments, Khanh tweeted: “I never thought I would say this but yasss come through anchovy ice cream.”
