Endemol Shine, the production company behind the cooking series confirmed last month that Ungermann had been involved in a police matter of a “personal nature” but refused to comment further.
Despite the fact that Ben is set to disappear from our screens in a few weeks, Endemol Shine and Network Ten are still refusing to comment on the reason for the 34-year-old’s swift departure.
Confidential reports that Ungermann ‘left the competition about three months ago, when production had only just started.
‘At that time, contestants were only told that he had left “for personal reasons”’.
The publication further states that Ungermann does not have any upcoming court dates in Victoria, NSW or his home state of Queensland, and his only previous court appearance was in 2017, for a low-range drink driving conviction.
While Ben has not officially commented on the matter, he has made several cryptic references to his MasterChef exit in recent weeks, telling his Instagram fan’: “Don’t believe everything you read guy’”.
It has also been reported that Ben recently celebrated his one-year anniversary with his TV and radio star girlfriend, Leigh-Anne Williams.
