Matt Doran has made the exciting announcement that he’s set to join Weekend Sunrise.
The TV star will host the Seven breakfast show from October 12 alongside Monique Wright following the departure of current presenter Basil Zempilas, who will say goodbye to the show this weekend.

Matt’s new gig comes of the back of his most recent stint as a reporter for Sunday Night.

Meanwhile, Basil, who is based in Perth and commutes to Sydney on weekends previously revealed that he would be reducing his hosting duties with Weekend Sunrise in order to spend more time with his wife, Amy and their children.
“There’s no doubt that Amy and my family, the three kids have sacrificed a lot for my career, all of it I suppose,” he told The West Australian.
“All of my children have been born in the time that I have been travelling away interstate. I’m very aware had it not been for their support and flexibility I wouldn’t be able to do the things that I’m doing.”
TV Tonight reports that Basil ‘will remain part of the Sunrise family’ but his weekly travel schedule was just too ‘demanding’.
He will continue to present the weeknight sports report for Seven News Perth, and a top-rating breakfast program on radio station 6PR – he will also play a pivotal role in the network’s coverage of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
