Kim and Michelle’s place in the House Rules competition could be in doubt thanks to her left knee, which gave her strife in tonight’s episode. Kim was plagued with pain as she tried to help Michelle demo their zone. The fact that stairs separated their two rooms –the master bedroom and the mudroom – didn’t help the issue either. “It could be a bit of a problem,” she said.
As time wore on, Kim’s knee became progressively worse and she was barely able to walk properly. After Michelle tried to ice the sore knee, a medic came to give it a look. “If I don’t get my knee sorted out, I could be sent home,” said an emotional Kim. The realisation that her failing knee could end their time in the competition was heartbreaking for Kim and Michelle. “It’s going to change all our lives,” said Kim of her time on House Rules. “If we make it to the end and we do win, I can retire, my husband can retire and just enjoy the rest of our days together but I might have to leave the competition.”
While Kim battled through with the pain, another couple experienced a different sort of pain when they were awarded this week’s bonus room. Josh and Brandon, who passed last week’s bonus room challenge with their movie room, were given the option to keep the space for another week or give it to another team. The brothers decided to give away the outdoor dining room, which must be styled in the theme of Cape Cod, to dairy farmers Toad and Mandy. “It’s a bit overwhelming,” said Toad. “I think you will do great,” said Brandon. Let’s see if they can cope with the added pressure!
