Before Meghan Markle was known for her role on Suits, and way before she was about to marry Prince Harry, she used to work as a calligrapher.
The bride-to-be taught calligraphy, gift-wrapping and book-binding at Paper Source in Beverly Hills from 2004-2005.
“It was her part-time job as she was going through auditions,” Paper Source CEO, Winnie Park, told PEOPLE. “She taught calligraphy and hosted a group of customers and instructed them during a two-hour class on how to do calligraphy.”
Markle used to do freelance calligraphy gigs on the side as well, writing wedding invitations for singer Robin Thicke and his (now ex) Paula Patton.
And according to Park, Markle’s love of calligraphy definitely would have come in handy when designing her own wedding invitations.
Park believes that the couple will send out a more personal invite to their nearest and dearest attending celebrations around their nuptials.
“They are a couple who would send a personal touch to close friends and family,” Park says. “My guess is they will likely have a very personal invitation going out specifically for events before or after the formal ceremony.”
