Thomas Markle has broken his silence following the news that Prince Charles would step in to walk Meghan Markle down the aisle.
According to TMZ, Thomas is “honoured and grateful” that Charles will accompany Meghan down the aisle at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
He also added that he would be watching the ceremony “in a secluded place with friends, hopefully with no press”.
Yesterday Kensington Palace finally confirmed that the actress’ future father-in-law Prince Charles will play a huge role in their wedding – he’ll walk her down the aisle before she and her groom exchange vows.
An official statement released by Kensington Palace reads: “Ms. Markle has asked his royal highness the Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St.George Chapel on their wedding day.”
The statement also included an emotional comment which stated: “The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle into The Royal Family this way.
The announcement comes after much speculation as to who would accompany Ms Markle down the aisle on her big day as her father Thomas has bowed out due to being hospitalised for heart surgery.
