Meghan Markle may have only wed Prince harry in May, but the newlywed already has a sentimental gift ready for their future royal daughter.
In 2015, the former actress revealed to Hello! Canada that she purchased a Cartier Tank Française watch which she plans to pass onto her future child.
“When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version” she said of the timepiece.
“I had it engraved on the back, ‘To M.M. From M.M.’ And I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That’s what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them.”
When Meghan and Harry do eventually have children, their titles can only be passed onto their sons, meaning any daughters they might have will not inherit a title.
When they were married, Queen Elizabeth made the couple the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but the dukedom can only be inherited by a male heir, and if they don’t have any boys, then the title will die out.
