The morning portion of their duties was filled with sunshine, adorable fans and even banana bread.

But it would appear Dubbo has had a change of heart, dousing the royal couple with rains.

The event gave Prince Harry a chance to talk to the people of Dubbo. But the city had other plans, with the heavens opening up pouring onto the royal.

As the park-goers remained, Meghan quickly covered her husband with an umbrella, while he delivered a stirring speech.

“There’s a lot to celebrate here in the City of Smiles,” Harry said to the crowd at the giant picnic in Dubbo’s Victoria Park.

“And the rain was a gift.”

The sweet note would make many farmers smile, who’ve suffered greatly thanks to the crippling droughts.

Harry’s touching speech saw him talk about Heads Together – his mental health charity, while he opened up about his own struggles and encouraged people to seek help.

“We know that suicide rates in rural and remote areas are greater than in urban populations.”

“Outside all of that, here’s what I also know. You are one huge community and with that comes an unparalleled level of internal support and understanding.

“All you need to do is to ask for it and your neighbour, your peer, your fellow farmer is literally right around the corner.

“Chances are they may well be suffering too and will relish the opportunity to either listen or talk themselves.”

Onlookers were charmed by how affectionate Meghan was with her Prince.

With one arm she held the umbrella upright, while the other appeared to stroke Harry on the back.
