There’s no doubt that poker player Mark is already causing a stir on My Kitchen Rules: The Rivals. After going head to head with faves contestant Romel during Monday night’s episode of MKR: The Rivals, Mark tried his first hand at strategically down-scoring Dan and Steph – who were crowned the winners of MKR in 2013.
After taking home the cash prize in 2013, the couple were able to use that money to undergo IVF and start a family – welcoming daughter Emmy into this world four years ago.
During their instant restaurant, Dan and Steph served up an Entree of Beetroot and Raspberry, a Main dish of Chicken and Corn and a Dessert of Poached Pears and Labneh.

While the couple dished up some quality competition during their instant restaurant under the guidance of Faves mentor, Manu Fieldel, not everyone agreed that their dishes were restaurant-worthy.
When deliberating their scores for Dan and Steph’s dinner dishes, Mark revealed exactly what he thought the group should give collectively as a score.
“I’m concerned for the welfare of our team, I honestly am,” he said. “Tonight has really showcased the level of skill we are up against.”
His fellow contestants nodded, acknowledging the cooking talent that’s already been displayed on MKR: The Rivals.
Continuing his suggestion, Mark said, “The only way to save us all, is that we all vote 1.”
But his suggestion wasn’t received well, with the other contestants unable to hide the shock on their faces.
“Either we start scoring strategically now, or we don’t start at all,” Mark reveals to producers, before continuing his conversation with the other Fans.
“The only way to save us is to vote ones, because they’re all going to vote nine or 10 right now, and from now on it will be 10, one, 10, one, 10, one,” Mark adds. “And they’ll win.”
But ridiculing Mark’s idea, Vasil simply responded, “That’s a solid no from me dawg.”
Ben adds while speaking to producers, “He is playing the game pretty heavily, but we’re not on board with it.”
“Let’s just cut the bulls–t, I believe in a thing called karma and it’s coming right back to bite us alright,” Ben tells Mark.
The rest of the fans team decided to go against Mark’s risky suggestion, and start throwing out some other numbers instead – with the majority of the group agreeing an eight or nine overall to be more suitable!
