The former Grease star was sat in the front row alongside husband John Easterling as Chloe and her dance partner Gustavo Viglio performed their first dance – a foxtrot – together.

“I am so proud, I’m so proud and my heart is beating so fast and I’m trying not to cry,” an emotional Olivia, 71, told host Amanda Keller.

“She did a wonderful job – just gorgeous, just gorgeous.”

An equally emotional Chloe asked Keller, “Can I give her a hug?” before racing down to embrace her famous mum.

Describing her achievement in appearing on the show, Chloe revealed that she’d had a bad experience on a reality show in the past.

‘I wanted to be voted off every week because I was so terrified,’ she said of her time on MTV’s Rock the Cradle, a singing competition in which she placed third in 2008.

‘I feel like it really traumatised me but I miss creativity, I miss music. Here I am, I faced my fear and I couldn’t be happier!’

However, it was a different experience for Chloe this time around, as the DWTS’s judges praised the 34-year-old for her natural abilities.

Commenting on Chloe’s dance she said “I loved your love story. It was excellent. I think it’s interesting when you talk about facing your fears.

This takes so much courage to come out and do a show like this. My only wish for you is that you enjoy this process, you fall back in love with dancing and music and enjoying yourself and having confidence because you just set yourself up for success in that first dance.

Excellent job.”
