Married At First Sight’s Dean’s final dog act

The rejection was as real as his dirty tricks.

When Dean Wells was finally dumped by his television wife Tracey Jewel last night, the Married At First Sight villain wasn’t sad.

He didn’t seem heartbroken that the whirlwind relationship was over or regretful over his behaviour that had led to its breakdown. He was angry. You could feel the fury seeping through the TV screen. Dean stormed off and paced through a paddock, huffing and puffing like a tantrum-throwing toddler.

And that says it all, doesn’t it?

So much for being a changed man, as he’d insisted. So much for having grown as a person. Dean proved that you can’t be an utterly awful example of a human being one week and suddenly transform into someone less garbage the next.

Like a leopard, a twit doesn’t change its spots.

Dean is selfish, manipulative and entitled – a man who uses women for his own personal pleasure with absolutely no regard for their feelings.

For months, Australia has groaned in unison as this petulant child in a mediocre man’s body was afforded second, third and fourth chances.

And I am so glad that Tracey finally, at long last, got her wake-up call and kicked his ass to the kerb.

When she delivered that brilliant slap down, I hope it was also a wake-up call for women everywhere who have a Dean in their lives.

You deserve better. That behaviour is not OK. And you should leave.

And I hope blokes like Dean also got a little jolt of self-awareness too, that they should be better.

Because when the person in your life gets tired of putting up with your crap – and trust me, one day they will – you’ll have no one but yourself to blame.

Finally, I hope Dean takes this opportunity to reflect on his character and grow up. Although going by recent media reports of his around-the-clock sleazing in pubs and clubs across Sydney, I doubt it.

Ladies, if you encounter this basic borish lamo out and about, steer clear. Take a leaf from Tracey’s book and realise that he doesn’t deserve you.
