Pauline Hanson has finally fronted the media, sporting an apparent tick bite on her face, days after it was reported the injury had forced her to go to go into hiding amid mounting political scandal.

Fronting the cameras with a nasty raised lump on her cheek that appears to confirm reports of the insect bite, Hanson was in full damage control over a scandalous documentary which revealed One Nation figures James Ashby and Steve Dickson had sought money from US gun lobbyists to help soften Aussie gun laws.
She insists they were ‘stitched up’.
‘The footage has been heavily edited. The comments aired have been taken completely out of context,’ she raged.
According to veteran political journalist Samantha Maiden at the New Daily, the controversial politician was earlier this week said to be ‘virtually unrecognisable’ after a severe reaction following the facial tick bite.
In worst case scenarios, such injuries are known to cause neurological problems including facial paralysis.
‘She has been bitten by a tick on the right cheek, which has flared up, making her almost unrecognisable,’ a party source told Maiden.
But it seems the political dramas surrounding her made staying at home impossible, and she fronted the media – despite that bite.
Hanson has been in the wars lately, notably clashing with David Koch on Sunrise over the impact of her rhetoric (see video below).
