Pope Francis has been injured whilst waving to fans from his Popemobile in Colombia.
The 80-year-old fell forward into the window in the specially designed car when it suddenly broke.
Video and images show the Pope falling and hitting the left side of his face.
He suffered a cut on his brow and a black eye, with blood falling onto his white clothing, but was not seriously hurt.
Pope Francis later joked to reporters that he was punched.
A Vatican spokesperson said that the Pope’s injury would not impact on his schedule.
“The pope is alright. Ice was put on it and he was treated. He will continue the schedule for his visit with no changes.”
