Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have already spent £2.4million, ($4.4 million Australian dollars) but the cost is more likely to be closer to £3 million once renovations are complete.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, the property was previously comprised of five “dormitory-style units”, which were used as staff accommodation and have now been transformed into one large five-bedroom home – an extremely expensive task.

A source told the publication the old original chimney stacks have been transformed to accommodate fashionable log burners, plans for two orangeries have been approved, a “floating floor” in the kitchen has been commissioned.

Buckingham Palace has stated that Frogmore needed essential repairs, including ceilings and floors replacing, extensive rewiring, and the installation of gas and water mains. However, the British public have been left fuming after reports of the extravagant extras.

Officials state that the royal couple paid for their own “fixtures and fittings”.
