In an official message posted on the Kensington Palace Twitter account, it was confirmed the royal will be jetting Down Under to take part in a ceremony remembering the 50 dead.

‘The Duke of Cambridge will visit New Zealand on behalf of The Queen to honour the victims of the Christchurch mosques terrorist attack,’ read a statement. ‘The visit in late April will be made at the request of the Prime Minister of New Zealand.

‘The Duke of Cambridge will meet with those affected by the Christchurch attack and will pay tribute to the extraordinary compassion and solidarity that the people of New Zealand have displayed in recent weeks.’

The announcement comes after Prince Harry and Meghan recently paid their respects to the victims.

The news comes as New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern has announced that a Royal Commission will be held to determine whether the March 15 terror attack could have been prevented.

Alleged killer, Brenton Tarrant from Grafton in NSW released a manifesto attempting to justify his alleged actions.

The PM said the commission will look into whether spies and other government resources could have done more.

“I want recommendations on how any such attack in the future could be stopped,” she said.
