The public adores Princess Charlotte for her cheeky, outgoing personality – and it seems the young royal’s “feisty” nature has earned her a surprising nickname amongst her fellow classmates.

The adorable four-year-old delighted royal fans as she arrived for her first day of school last week, (watch the video below for a recap) but it was Charlotte’s time at Willcocks Nursery School that landed the princess her nickname, according to royal commentator Katie Nicholl.

While it was recently revealed that Charlotte’s formal name throughout her time at new school, Thomas’s Battersea would be ‘Charlotte Cambridge,’ Ms Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight: “The other nickname that she had when she was at Willcocks Nursery, which was up until just before the summer, was Warrior Princess.

“I’m wondering if that might be a nickname that will stick with her. Apparently she earned that nickname because obviously she is a Princess, but she’s quite a tomboy.
“She loves climbing trees and she’s very much an adventurer, she was quite known for her feisty personality.”

Ms Nicholl also said: “Charlotte will be known as Charlotte Cambridge, so that will be her name when she’s called out on the register.

“But I suspect her friends will call her what most of her friends called her at Willcocks Nursery School, which is Lottie.

“That’s a name that her parents call her.”

A report last week also revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s middle child – they are also parents to Prince George, six and Prince Louis, one – will not be allowed to have best friends at school.
