The 29-year-old daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York – whose full name is Eugenie Victoria Helena – paid homage to Great Britain’s second-longest reigning monarch.

Eugenie took to Instagram, posting a portrait of Queen Victoria along with a photo from the film The Young Victoria.

The tribute also revealed that her mum actually produced the film – which starred Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend.

“Today marks the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria (1819-1901). She reigned for almost 64 years and I’m very proud to be named after her,” Eugenie began.

“The first image is a portrait of Queen Victoria by Franz Xaver Winterhalter (1805-1873) @royalcollectiontrust. The second is of Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend, who played Victoria and Albert in The Young Victoria (2009) – a film produced by @sarahferguson15.”

Fans were quick to express their surprise that the Duchess of York, who’s affectionately known as ‘Fergie’, had produced the successful British period drama.
