The Queen comments on royal family drama in her Christmas speech

Queen Elizabeth has shared a preview into her annual Christmas speech.

And Her Majesty isn’t hiding away from the royal drama.

In the broadcast, recorded in Buckingham Palace’s white drawing room, the monarch will highlight Jesus’s message – often cited at Christmas.

The Queen, 92, will say, as shared by The Guardian: “I believe his message of peace on Earth and goodwill to all is never out of date. It can be heeded by everyone; it’s needed as much as ever.”

In a written preview on the royal’s Instagram, it read: “Through the many changes I have seen over the years – faith, family and friendship have been not only a constant for me but a source of personal comfort and reassurance.

In a nod to her family’s drama,  “Even with the most deeply held differences, treating the other person with respect and as a fellow human-being is always a good first step towards greater understanding.”

When will the Queen’s Christmas speech air in Australia?

The Queen’s Christmas Message (also known as The King’s Christmas Message in the reign of a male monarch, formally as Her Majesty’s Most Gracious Speech) is a broadcast made by the sovereign of the Commonwealth realms to the Commonwealth of Nations each Christmas.

The speech is broadcast to all 52 Commonwealth nations at 3pm London time (2:00 am the following day Australia) on Christmas Day.

Lasting around 10 minutes, the Christmas message is also shown live on the Royals’ YouTube channel, Facebook and since 2006 you can download the speech as a podcast.
