Staff will be addressed shortly by the Royal Household’s most senior office Lord Chamberlain and Her Majesty’s Private Secretary Sir Christopher Geidt.

Royal experts have described the emergency meeting as “highly unusual”, creating vast speculation across the interwebs.

The announcement is said to be regarding the Queen, 90, or her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, 95.

“Although meetings involving the entire royal household are occasionally called, the way this has been done at the eleventh hour is highly unusual and suggests that there is something major to be disseminated,” Mail Online reported.

Every member from the Queen’s workforce have been summoned from as far as Balmoral in Scotland and Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, to London for the meeting.

Her Majesty and her husband, Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh had to cancel their most recent Christmas trip to their country home at Sandringham House in Norfolk because they both fell ill with heavy colds.

WHO will have more on this story as it breaks.
