His relationship with girlfriend of three years, Virginia Burmeister is said to be on the rocks – but Richard Wilkins is keen to put on a happy front.

The showbiz reporter appeared to put an end to break-up whispers by stepping out with Virginia at the Australian Open in Melbourne on Saturday.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Richard, 65, confirmed he and Virginia – who took to Instagram to share several snaps of herself and Richard at the sporting event – were at the tennis tournament.
“Loving the Tennis with my gorgeous man,” Virginia captioned a series of cosy snaps.
The 52-year-old former Le Lido Paris dancer and mother-of-two then shared a follow-up post, which featured two more snaps of herself and the Nine star.
“Beautiful day great people,” Virginia wrote alongside the loved-up images, which included one pic of herself leaning in close to Richard’s ear, while putting her arm around his neck.
Despite the loved-up display, sources have told The Daily Telegraph that the couple’s relationship is somewhat strained at present.
The sources claimed the couple have been arguing a lot over Richard’s apparent reluctance to invest money into Virginia’s property in the south of France.
The whispers about a potential breakup recent news that Richard had been planning to walk down the aisle with Virginia.
His son Christian Wilkins told the Daily Mail last September that his father is head-over-heels in love.
“Maybe [they will marry], they are very happy together,” Christian spilled.
Richard and Virginia first went public with their relationship in October 2017, when they were spotted getting cosy at former Today co-host Lisa Wilkinson and husband Peter FitzSimons’ 25-year anniversary celebrations.
