Curtis’ father, Nick Curtis, revealed the PR CEO resigned as director of the private investment company on Friday, revealed he will take her place in his son’s company, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Curtis gave his wife the position before he was jailed for in June 2016 for his past role in insider trading.

In a statement, Jacenko explained her decision to step down from her role just 12 weeks before her husband is set to be released.

“I was made a director of Encounter Investments … to ensure that if he [Oliver] was sentenced to a prison sentence there was someone who was able to sign documents in his behalf as and when required,” she wrote in an email.

“Given Oliver will be released from prison at the end of June (just 12 weeks away) there is no longer a requirement for me to be a signatory, thus my resignation.”
