In a ceremony watched by millions of people on TV worldwide, the pair vowed to love, comfort, honour and protect each other, and we loved every second. Here are our five favourite moments from the ceremony.
The moment Harry saw Meghan
Nothing beats the moment the Prince saw his bride. The joy was palpable – “You look amazing!,” he told her as she arrived by his side, safely delivered by his father Charles. “Thank you, Pa” he said, gazing into Meghan’s eyes. Sigh! How lovely it was to see Meghan walk into the church alone – a real statement made by the former actor. But to then see her joined by Charles who tenderly took her arm and walked her the rest of the way towards a clearly emotional Harry, well that was very special.

That reveal! That train! That tiara! She looked spectacular in Givenchy and we couldn’t be happier. And we weren’t the only ones, celebrity stylist Lana Wilkinson tells WHO, “Megan’s stunningly minimal and elegant Givenchy gown by creative director, Clare Waight Keller, didn’t disappoint. With a boatneck neckline, long sleeves and decadent train, the traditional and timeless gown, paid tribute to royal brides before her, but also a nod to old Hollywood glamour. I absolutely loved it. Her hair styled in a chignon and accessorised by the Queen Mary’s filigree Tiara was perfection. The style will no doubt set bridal trends for years to come.” Couldn’t have put it better ourselves.
The showstopping sermon by The Most Rev Bishop Michael Curry
He is the first African-American presiding bishop and primate of the Episcopal Church, and he gave one heck of an address titled the Power of Love at the service in St George’s Chapel,
Reducing some of the family to smirks with his long and passionate address, he gave his all, and he will be talked about for some time to come.
Charlotte and George being heroes
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s two eldest children could have been disastrous at their roles as bridesmaid and page boy respectively but they nailed it – Charlotte even waving to the crowd from the top of the steps. George held hands with his counterpart like a very good boy, but his behind his dad once the ceremony was over.
That kiss!
It has long been spoken about – when would it be that we’d see the “balcony kiss” equivalent today, given that Harry and Meghan would not be heading to Buckingham Palace after their wedding. Would it be in the carriage on the way through Windsor? Well no, they couldn’t even wait to get away from the church before puckering up – and we are SO GLAD!
