Todd filed with the Anchorage Superior Court on Friday, September 6. The oil field production operator, 55, requested to have their marriage dismissed, citing “incompatibility of temperament between the parties.”
It was also stated that the breakdown of the relationship made it “impossible to live together as husband and wife.”
The Palin’s married in 1988 having been childhood sweethearts. After Sarah became governor in 2006, Todd Palin continued to fish commercially and work an oil field job on the North Slope.
“We met in high school, and two decades and five children later, he’s still my guy,” Sarah previously said.
The former couple share five children: Track, 30, Bristol, 28, Willow, 25, Piper, 18, and Trig, 11.
The couple are no strangers to scandal, with a then-teenage Bristol revealing she was pregnant during Sarah’s run as governor, and more recently, the couple’s eldest son, Track, serving less than two months in a halfway house after a conviction for assaulting his father in 2017.
