Pregnant Serena Williams is taking a break.
The tennis star’s rep confirmed to Reuters that Williams, 35, will not be competing for the remainder of the 2017 season. This means fans will miss out on seeing the champion play at Wimbeldon, the French Open, and the U.S. Open.
However, she will return next year after welcoming her first child.
Williams announced her pregnancy with fiancé Alexis Ohanian, 33, via Snapchat this week, captioning a photo of her baby bump: “20 weeks”.
The athlete’s announcement confirms that she was pregnant when she won the Australian Open against sister Venus Williams in January this year.
Williams’ relationship with reddit co-founder Ohanian was confirmed in October 2015. The couple announced their engagement in December 2016.
