Shakira is allegedly being investigated for tax evasion in Spain.
Spanish tax authorities have claimed that the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer is under investigation for allegedly not paying income tax between 2011 and 2014.
According to BBC News, those close to Shakira say she was outside of Spain for most of the time, but has always dealt wit her tax obligations. The Colombian pop star’s worth is said to be more than $200 million.
Shakira officially declared Barcelona, Spain as her home residence after living in the Bahamas. She lives in the city with her husband, Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué, and their two young sons.
Tax officials are seeking four years of unpaid taxes from all of her global income.
