The 32-year-old – who welcomed a daughter with long-term partner Matte Babel last Sunday – was targeted by trolls for leaving her newborn child at home to attend Drake’s 33rd birthday bash at Goya Studios last Wednesday.

The You actress marked Drake’s birthday with an Instagram video of herself and Matte dancing at the bash, alongside the caption “Parents”.

“I understand parents need a night out once in a while, but days after giving birth??” one person ranted.

‘Sorry but who even wants to be out days after giving birth? Post partum pads aren’t hot. Stay home and rest your body and bond with your baby.’

Another person even accused the actress of having post partum depression.

‘This just screams some postpartum depression, no need to go out so quickly unless u gotta keep an eye on ur man or prove something. You know how much fluid is still leaking lol,’ they wrote.

‘What could possibly be better than staying home with your 3 day old newborn ? A party ? Really ?’

‘She captioned her video parents but she’s not even being a parent…’

On October 20, the Pretty Little Liars star took to social media to announce the birth of her daughter.

“Never letting go,” Shay captioned a photo of herself holding her daughter’s hand.

The American star revealed she was expecting a little bundle of joy in June, sharing a photo to Instagram from a topless maternity shoot.

“Does this mean I’m allowed to drive in the carpool lane at all times now? There is something in the oven and it’s not my pizza!!! WOW … It’s kind of surreal processing the fact that another human is growing inside of you,” she also wrote in the description for her two-minute announcement video.

The birth comes after Shay revealed in January that she’d suffered a miscarriage in 2018. Taking to her Instagram story, the emotional A-lister shared her story, writing: “Although it was an amazing year, it didn’t come without some hardships,” before sharing a photo of an ultrasound with a broken-heart emoji.
