It looks like Sonia Kruger’s presenting role on Today Extra is hanging by a thread after reports today that Channel Nine executives are considering replacing the 54-year-old in 2020.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Kruger’s role on the morning show is rumoured to be under review as the network looks for ways to boost its ratings – and one of the ways bosses are looking to revamp the show is by drafting in fresh anchors to give the failing show a revamp.
If Sonia was to be ousted from her morning show role, she could potentially continue as host on The Voice, but only if she doesn’t choose to explore opportunities at rival networks.
Leaving the network may well be an option Sonia wishes to explore, given Seven is planning to bring back Big Brother in 2020 – a show which the veteran TV star used to host.
The source went on to say, with Sonia out of the picture, Today co-host Georgie Gardner would most likely be her immediate replacement in the new year.
However, Nine is denying all rumours about a shake up, with a spokesperson telling the publication: “All of the talk is made up.”
Sonia’s contract with Nine is reported to be worth $800,000.
Earlier this year, the former Strictly Ballroom star launched the app Strictly You – a dance-based fitness and nutritional program giving users access to health and fitness advice from Australia’s best choreographers, nutritionists and professional trainers.
