Was it something we said? Gorgeous Sophie Monk, usually so chatty, stunned waiting reporters by storming off the red carpet and refusing to speak to many of them at the AACTA Awards.
The Bachelorette star was alone at the film and television industry’s glittering night of nights – prompting many whispers about the absence of her chosen man, multimillionaire publican Stu Laundy.
Leggy Sophie looked stunning in a tight-fitting black bustier, shorts and skirt ensemble, her hair piled high, but her mood was as stormy as the weather at Sydney’s Star Casino.
When an online journalist asked the whereabouts of the 44-year-old father-of-four, a clearly irritated Sophie replied: “Here we go! They’re going to say we’ve broken up again. He’s at home sick.”
She then summoned a minder and refused to answer any more questions from waiting media.
In a recent interview the stunning blonde – who has just been announced as the host of Nine’s Love Island – confessed she hadn’t been ready for the scrutiny her new relationship would come under.
Dismissing the rumours about a breakup as “mental” the 37-year-old told Nova’s Chrissie, Sam and Browny: ‘I didn’t know what I was in for but at the same time…I’ve never really had a private life that I’ve kept private anyway.”
