SpongeBob SquarePants creator Stephen Hillenburg has died

The creative genius behind the hugely popular kids animation SpongeBob SquarePants, Stephen Hillenburg, has died of ALS.

Hillenburg is survived by his wife, Karen, his son, Clay, his mother, Nancy and a brother, Brian.
