Season three of Succession will be airing in the Australian spring, meaning those new episodes are just a couple of months away.

After the rollercoaster that was season two, it looks to be an all-out war between the Roy family for this upcoming season.

“Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall at the end of season two, Logan Roy begins season three in a perilous position. Scrambling to secure familial, political and financial alliances, tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war,” production company HBO has said in an official release.

“Set in New York, the bitingly funny, critically acclaimed drama series Succession explores themes of power, politics, money, and family, centred around the Roy family and their family-controlled media conglomerate.”

The already stellar cast is set to grow as well, with Oscar winner Adrien Brody joining the cast, and Emmy winner Alexander Skarsgård.

Adrien will be playing Josh Aaronson, “a billionaire activist investor who becomes pivotal in the battle for the ownership of Waystar,” while Alexander will take on Lukas Matsson, “a successful, confrontational tech founder and CEO.”

The existing cast, made up of Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Nicholas Braun, Alan Ruck and Matthew Mcfayden will all be returning.

Succession has been making waves since its first season, where it debuted as a satirical family drama about the rich and powerful Roy family, who are media giants.

Production of season three was delayed by COVID restrictions, but has recently wrapped filming in New York City.

Currently, another two seasons of the show are expected to go ahead, with series writer Georgia Pritchett saying there is “an end in sight.”
