Australian Survivor: All Stars is officially underway.
WATCH: FIRST LOOK: Australian Survivor All Stars 2020
And we’re bringing you a day-by-day account as each Survivor is eliminated from the completion.
1. Zach and Shonee – Episode 6
They might’ve received the most votes respectively, but instead of being sent packing, Zach and Shonee were banished to Exile Beach— a daring move that shocked the masses. At this point in time, it remains to be seen whether the dynamic duo can earn their way back into the game.
2. Henry Nicholson – Episode 5
Henry Nicholson became the fifth person voted out, and he left swinging. The 26-year-old labourer’s booting came after he bizarrely pretended to have a fake immunity idol in the hopes that his campmates wouldn’t risk voting for him. But his cunning plan wasn’t quite so cunning.
Henry made “an idol” out of a rock wrapped in a bit of a sack and asked Jonathan LaPaglia for a brief moment to allow him to search for it in front of everyone at tribal council before voting got underway.
“I just needed the aura of me having the fake idol for the future. I knew if Shonee went, I still could be next so I needed everyone to see me get this idol,” he told 10 Daily.
“I think, the way I executed it, if I was sitting on one of those blocks and looking, I would believe that was potentially an idol,” Henry said.
“No one saw me plant it, no one saw me make it, no one had the balls to stand up and ask Jonathan for a couple of minutes because I needed them to think I needed it for the vote. Hopefully, that shook it up enough.”
3. Michelle Dougan – Episode four
Her departure comes after she failed an immunity challenge that required the castaways to hold onto a rope attached to a 26kg barrel.
The rules were that if they couldn’t hold up the barrel anymore, they could pass it to another tribe member. But once they’d handed over the barrel, they were out of the challenge.
And, if anyone dropped the barrel, the whole tribe was out of the challenge.
Michelle was the first contestant from Mokuta to surrender her barrel during the gruelling exercise, which contributed to the team’s eventual loss.
She immediately predicted that the Mokuta athletes’ unwavering focus on keeping the tribe strong would mean she was voted out.
Despite her appeals to various tribe mates and contestants and a campaign from Henry to oust Sharn, the majority were in agreement – Michelle just wasn’t physically strong enough to stay and win.
“Look at today’s challenge. Like, that was brute strength,” said AFLW player Abbey Holmes.
“We need to be able to compete and beat the other tribe. We need to stay strong. We need strong people around us.”
After making a passionate plea at Tribal to stay in the game, Michelle ended up on the wrong side of the votes with Nick, Harry, Abbey, Zach, Lee, and Lydia scribbling her name down on their parchment.
4. Daisy Richardson- Episode three
It had been hyped as the “Most. Epic. Tribal. Ever.” and it didn’t fail to deliver, with Daisy Richardson becoming the third person to leave Australian Survivor All Stars via a stinging blindside.
After strategy, gameplaying and some solid acting from David Genat in particular, Daisy was caught short when two players used their hidden immunity idols to protect others, instead of themselves.
5. Jericho Malabonga – Episode 2
Brooke played her idol for David, while Mat played his for Jacqui, which left Daisy reeling.
Despite being part of an alliance with Daisy, David worked against his ‘Sexy Seven’ group and joined together with Matt’s minority group of four to exact revenge and get rid of her, just as she had done to him last time he played.
Revenge, in this case, was a dish served ice-cold as just minutes before Daisy had said she had “Faith in my people big-time… It’s not my people I’m worried about tonight.”
As the votes began stacking up against Daisy and she was called forward to have her torch extinguished by Jonathan La Paglia, a look of devastation fell across her face.
“That WAS a blindside. (EXHALES) I’m shaking,” she said as she exited.
After season three winner, Shane Gould became the first person to exit the island, Victorian flight attendant and 2017 Sole Survivor winner, Jericho Malabonga became the second person to leave the show.
The Cookie Monster’s departure came about at the hands of an alliance that bonded over a secret stash of choc-chip biscuits – ironically the very same treat that helped Jeri take out the crown in 2017.
“I reckon that the Cookie legacy continued in the most poetic way,” Jericho told 10 Daily after his elimination.
“The first time I played, I was hiding this jar of cookies from the whole tribe and this time around, the majority of the tribe were hiding it from the Cookie Monster himself,” he added.
After Phoebe and Locky paid a visit to the ‘Survivor’ store, they secretly stashed the sweet treats and shared them with Dave, Flick, Brooke, Locky and Daisy – unbeknownst to Jeri, Tarzan, Mat, Moana and Jacqui.
“Literally there was a group of seven that naturally came together like a clique and through that, I was left with the leftovers — the older people who didn’t fit in with that social group.”
Despite being knocked out of the competition so early on, Jeri says he has no regrets about returning to Survivor.
“There is one thing that I’m grateful for — and that’s that I can fall back on the first season that I played.”
“I know that most people are really banking on a win this time to make sure that they re-write their own story that was cut short for them — for myself, however, I was coming in with a different perspective.”
