Australian Survivor contestant Georgia Ray has admitted she suffered an ectopic pregnancy after leaving the latest season of the show, with the complications beginning while she was still filming, which led to the loss of one of her fallopian tubes.

In the lead up to her elimination, the Queensland-based forensic psychologist spent 24 hours outside the game while she received treatment for abdominal pain, which at the time was thought to be a bowel issue.
She returned to the game after her short absence but was voted out at tribal that evening.
“I am lucky to go home when I did, that was divine intervention,” she told The Daily Telegraph on Monday, with her elimination airing the night before.
“If I had stayed out there, I could have possibly lost my life. I had no idea I had internal bleeding – I see myself as lucky.”
Ectopic pregnancies occur when a fertilised egg attaches somewhere outside of the uterus, usually inside one of the fallopian tubes.
Early symptoms usually include pelvic pain and vaginal bleeding.
“They can be fatal,” Georgia said.
“I am grateful to be alive and also in a state to be able to be there for my kids.”
Georgia was unaware that she was pregnant when she went to begin filming Survivor.
The mum-of-two had been on birth control, meaning the complications came as a shock.
“I would have been two or three weeks pregnant from the beginning of the show,” she explained.
She has confirmed that her and her husband David are now resolved to not have any more children, which would be difficult, as the ectopic pregnancy led to the removal of one of her fallopian tubes.
Georgia, who is mum to six-year-old Oscar and five-year-old Claudia, admitted the experience left her feeling very grateful.
“I am very lucky in the fact that I have two beautiful children so I consider myself pretty grateful that I am at that stage of my life where I have had my children. The upheaval of this whole experience has made me even more grateful for the two children I have and just to have my health,” she said.
Georgia admitted to a range of emotions regarding the experience.
“I have had a lot of questions and a lot of why did that have to happen a week or two before I went on the show,” she divulged.
“I am not angry, I am a pretty philosophical person and I like to see things happen for a reason.”
