You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who lives in an Aussie city who doesn’t love a bit of take away every now and then, but one Sydney woman has gone to the extreme.
According to food delivery service Deliveroo, the unnamed woman has ordered 786 meals in the three years it has been operating in Australia – that’s one meal every day and a half!
The surprising revelation was made on Sunrise this morning, check out the video above for the whole story.
“A girl’s gotta eat,” Sunrise co-host Sam Armytage joked.
According to Sunrise, there are 7,000 food orders per hour in Australia and the food delivery industry makes more than $2 billion a year.
“I thought this might be a fad but it’s not going anywhere,” Smooth FM’s Ron Wilson said of food delivery services.
“I don’t think it’s laziness, it’s just we’re so busy doing other things, we don’t have time to make food anymore so what do we do? We order!”
Macquarie Radio’s Justin Smith also weighed in on the story.
“The person that orders this many times can’t also talk about house prices going up and the cost of petrol and electricity,” he said.
“It does remove your ability to complain about anything expensive!”
