Married At First Sight star Telv Williams arrest after being escorted from a Melbourne pub in handcuffs following a scuffle on Sep 22 is the latest of a string of scandals the star of the Channel Nine reality show have faced since the series ended in April.
Just days after the incident, in which Williams was questioned by police after the alleged “vicious attack,” which took place in the early hours at the Albion in South Melbourne, the 34-year-old took to social media to address one of his followers who labelled the tradie-turned-TV-star a “loser” for “beating up people.”
“Wrong, actually,” Williams fired back in a comment that has since been deleted. “My dad was king hit.”
It’s believed Williams had been out with his father the night the incident took place. The pair had been together earlier, watching Melbourne Storm play the Cronulla Sharks rugby league preliminary final at nearby AAMI Park.
According to reports, Williams – who was famously paired with Sara Roza on MAFS, only to split after the show went to air – was out with friends when the incident occurred. It’s alleged he became embroiled in a scuffle with a fellow patron, who suffered a bruised face and a black eye after being punched in the side of the face.
However, a source close to Williams has told WHO exclusively that a fellow patron was “hassling [Telv’s] dad and Telv stepped in to help.”
“Telv does have an aggressive streak, though, and thinks he is untouchable,” our source adds.
The full details of the scuffle at the Albion are not yet known, but friends of the alleged victim – who did not want to be named – claim the incident was “vicious”.
Reports from the scene describe Williams stepping in after his friend “lashed out” at a fellow pub patron. He intervened, but was escorted away from the scene in handcuffs around 3am.
Williams’ fellow MAFS co-star Patrick Miller says his friend is “doing all right”, going to ground since the incident, which Williams has described as “a very crazy situation.”
