Terrifying video footage of a firefighters being surrounded by raging flames in Nowra has emerged online.

The video posted by Fire And Rescue NSW on their Facebook page shows the crew from Station 509 Wyoming in a truck driving through a bushfire when it becomes surrounded by intense flames.
The Facebook post read: “The crew from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 509 Wyoming recorded this video showing the moment their truck was overrun by the bushfire burning South of Nowra at 3pm today. The crew was forced to shelter in their truck as the fire front passed through. The crew are okay.”
The firefighters in the truck were forced to put up blankets while the truck became surrounded.
One firefighter can be heard telling another: “Jasper put your blanket up.”
At least two more people were reported to have died in New South Wales on December 31 as bushfires continued to tear through the state.
The death toll from three months of bushfires across the country is at 12.
New South Wales Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons maintains this is the worst bushfire season for NSW on record.
