For those who aren’t up to speed:

During an intimate moment in the jacuzzi on Wednesday night’s episode of The Bachelor, Abbie told Matt that Monique called him a “dog c***” and a “disrespectful pig” behind his back.

Monique vehemently denied the claims, saying “those words never left my mouth.”

90 per cent of the girls in the Bachelor mansion confirmed Abbie’s story.

However, after the show, Julia defended Monique and claimed that Abbie had twisted her friend’s words.

“Apparently it was a conversation – the girls were by the pool while everyone was tanning and just making jokes,” Julia stated.

“Some of us talk silly sometimes, like with accents and things like that. So I think the comment that Mon made was taken out of context because it was like a joke.”

The brunette also pointed out that it was part of a private conversation and insinuated that Abbie’s actions were an act of betrayal.

“I think as women, we should always support each other, encourage each other and lift each other up,” Julia said.

During the rose ceremony on Wednesday night’s episode, Monique and Julia were the last two left without a rose.

Matt dramatically stepped out of the rose ceremony before walking back in, and in a surprising twist presented the final rose to Monique.

Bachelor fans were furious that the blonde bombshell managed to stay in after calling him a “disrespectful pig,” and took to Twitter to voice their outrage.

“Imagine being Julia, he chose a chick who called him names over her. Not cool,” wrote one viewer.

“I feel bad for julia she deserves better,” said another.

The astrophysicist explained his decision in an interview with Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa this morning, saying he needed “more time” to understand the situation.

“For me, it was a case of both I wasn’t confident enough in what had happened yet, I needed more time,” Matt explained.

“And I’d had such an amazing date with Mon that I just did want to further make sure I made the right decision.”
