In a statement from Network Ten and Warner Brothers, producers confirmed that filming was being paused to protect the health and safety of all involved in the reality show.

‘The health and safety of our participants and crew members is our number one priority,’ the companies said in a joint statement yesterday.

‘Although we have been employing extra precautions on set for some time, it is no longer practical to continue with production.

‘These are extremely difficult times for all Australians and for our industry, and the full extent of those difficulties will not be known for some time to come.’

Network Ten stated that it would resume filming as soon as it is safe to do so.

Previous contestants have spoken out in the past about the cramped living conditions in The Bachelor mansion.

‘You sleep in bunk beds and live in each other’s pockets,’ ex-contestant Nikki Ferris told Daily Mail Australia earlier this month.

As you can imagine, 28 women sharing four bedrooms and four bathrooms is just asking for a s**t storm.’

‘It’s like a hostel. If there was a group date, one person would be on the toilet, another in the shower and another doing makeup all in the same bathroom. We had a cleaner come just once a week.’
