And while the pair – dressed in near-identical outfits to those worn by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey – certainly made it look easy on the night, nailing the iconic lift wasn’t easy, with the couple suffering a number of setbacks during rehearsals, including a back injury for Stephanie.

“I hear the thud of her head against the floor. I thought I had concussed her,” Jude admitted after the fall.

“We over-rotated. I smashed my back straight on the floor. It hurt so bad. I feel like this was a major back-step on my behalf,” added Stephanie.

The Real Dirty Dancing pays tribute to Patrick Swayze, marking 10 years since the superstar died from pancreatic cancer, and pays homage to people affected by the disease.

The four-part mini-series also saw Hugh Sheridan, Firass Dirani, Anna Heinrich, Anne Edmonds and Jessica Rowe recreate some of the film’s famous dances.
